**I’M ABOUT TO THROW THIS ORANGE SLICE AT U ALERTZ** Tonight Project Runway Season Fives four Feist’s rounded out the top two and bottom two designers! There just ain’t enough room in the Parsons’ sewing room for “1,2,3,4” Feists. At judging we see the glimmer of a rivalry that u knew was coming between Glamorous Feist Kenly and Avante-Garde Feist Leanne. Watch what happens!
Timlicious took the designers on a field trip atop a double decker sightseeing bus. In the rain. At night. Somewhere Jerry is wearing his shower curtain raincoat out on the town and feeling validated. The designers were each given a camera to capture a nighttime NYC image that would be the inspiration for an evening out ensemble. After they picked the photo that moved them, the designers got to go to Mood fabric store and pick their own materials for the first time evah this season. Exciting times! Leanne’s chosen photo was of a tree planter – dark and circular, Avante-Garde Feist weighed the judges comments last week and was careful not to over design her architectural skirt and simple sleeveless top. The judges, including guest Sandra Bernhard, really loved what Avante-Garde Feist did. Surrealist Feist Jennifer’s favorite image was of a huge wall clock, a symbol of the city that never sleeps. Her aesthetic is Holly Golightly attends a Salvador Dali exhibit. Although I liked her midnight blue and white charmeuse tiered baby doll dress – surrealistic it was not. Das matronly (!), snapped Heidi.
To the naked eye Edgy Feist Emily’s picture of moving traffic was ribbons of neon light and a graphic red parking sign. The photo was alive with energy, but her one shouldered black number with an insane (Michael Kors’ word) ruffle running across it was a cocktail dress for a girl clown. Not unlike the frock she made for the Gristedes challenge. And with that, Edgy Feist became Sad Feist when she was sent upstairs to clean up her space. The judges picked Glamorous Feist Kenly as the challenge winner. Kenly’s inspiration was a vibrantly tiled wall map. She used really fun purple ombre tulle and painterly leafy green fabric to create her updated 80’s power betch uniform. The fit of the dress resembled an upside down flower what with the fitted bodice with high neckline that gave way to a bubbled skirt of large overlapping petals (layers). Three Feists stand before us, but only one will win. WHO will be America’s Next Top Feist?

You might wanna sit down for this one… Jen! Okay, check out the twin covers of Mary-Kate and Ashley’s new coffee table book titled “Influences”. MaK’s on the left and Ash is on the right… Like, if you can’t tell them apart yet! Okay, the book, which drops on October 18th is packed with interviews and photos of peeps who’ve influenced M-Ash’s life and style. I can’t wait to get both copies… So what, I’m juss a lil’ obsessed, aren’t you?

Yeah, Robin Antin gives great advice but clearly Christina Aguilera didn’t get the memo. Okay, I’m trying to see the artistic value of Xteenz look during this this photo shoot in LA but I think I’m more scared than inspired. I’m not a huge fan of crimped hair but when you pair it with dead drag queen expressions and a paper bag dress = BUSTED! And a throw a elbows!

Wow, doncha just love the fact that celebs get to romp and beach and make-out with hawties all day while the rest of us are trapped away in the salt mines?!? I guess that’s why the celebs have a spech place in our hearts. Okay, this one’s rich, real rich. Check out Mischa Barton romping on the beach in Malibu with her main squeeze, Taylor Locke of the band Rooney! Oh, how hawt is that Meesh is dating a Rooney boy?!? Speaking of Rooney, what ever happened to them? They need to get that Schwartzman hawtie outta hiding and start rawking again! C’mon Meesh, do’it!

Have been dreaming of Grace Kelly lately. I write copy for most merch in the store and used this line to describe that red plaid funnel neck jacket: If Grace Kelly were to go on a camping trip with the Hardy boys, this is what she would wear.” I think it kinda describes it perfectly cuz the jacket is so completely ADORABLE. Lots more fall things keep coming so pls stay tuned! Defs don’t miss the Kate Spade calendar. It has a road trip theme. Let’s go!

Sometimes I find myself worrying about things unnecessarily, like I can’t stop thinking about some dumb work thing. Does that happen to you? So then I’ll stop for a sec, close my eyes, imagine myself holding a balloon and I let it go. I take a moment to watch it glide up, up in the sky. And then I move on to something else. Anyway, thought I’d share. Hope that helps.

I know there are a lot of people out there with different levels of infatuation with this little show that we love called LOST. But no matter what level of nerd you are, if you’re like me, and looking for something fun to pass the time until season 5 (only six months left!) I have a couple of things for you:

Jen loves when I blog about Kirsten Dunst… So, I dedicate this post to our fearless General Manager - Jen! Okay, there’s been lots of celebs hitting the streets of NYC this summer. Madonna, of course my fave, but Li Lo, Natalie Portman and Kiki D have also been constantly sighted at all the hawt haunts in the Big Apple. So, check out Kiki’s solid color fashion explosion of NYC. I just adore her simple little nautical dress on the left. The lil’ cape and pockets… OMG CUTE! And on the left, she’s still keeping in simple at the MGMT/Ting Tings show in Brooklyn’s McCarren Park in a green tee-dress with matching risky biz but adds a dash of flower power with a floral headband. But, I’m in a GREAT mood today! In fact I’m having a wonderful day in general! I totally slept in this morning, hung out in my apartment like I had no where to be (I’m always rushing, so this is so rare) and I even got to check out the new Chromeo video! I’ve seriously had it in my head all day! Take a look see… You’ll LOVE it! And it’s animated so it’s awesome!
I must admit tho, I’m not always such a sweetheart! Like last week when UPS totes forgot to pick up our packages! GULP! I had to bring out the big guns (and I don’t mean Chris) I actually had to yell at them!! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my UPS boys… But sometime ya gotta keep em’ in check! Also, last week, my computes was totally giving up on me, so I was a little frustrated! Luckily, when I get cranky, I always have my peeps at fred to cheer me up! Take a peek at what Mo gave me on a few of my cranky days! GENIUS right?! Luckily, last week totally ended on a high note! And even on my most crankiest days, I still wouldn’t trade ff for ANYTHING!

CJ and I were strolling in NoLita on Saturday evening and I saw this book in the window of a book shop and thought it had such an amazing cover so I had to buy it. It’s a collection of creative nonfiction which I totally love, so I am excited to begin. Any other good summer reading you can recommend?

The sisterhood is reunited! The fab four: Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn all got togethz last night in New York City for the big red carpet premiere of their new Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 movie! The ladies all looked bee’atiful but no pants in sight! It’s weird tho, I mean Alexis and Amber were the big stars during the first movie and my, my, how the tables have turned. Now it’s Blake and America who are the superstars. That’s gotta be kinda crazy for them… The change in dynamics. P.S. all the Gossips were on hand too to support their fave poor little rich girl! So, how friggin’ stoked are you for this sequel? Get me to Greece, pronto. And a soccer game with Sareenz? Okay!

Kurt Cobain would be so proud… Our fave twinster, Mary-Kate Olsen is still heavily rawkin’ her plaids and flannels this summer. Could MaK single handedly be bringing grunge back?!? Hmmm, plaids are hawt and being dirryt is what MaK does best. We’ll just have to wait and see if it catches on across the country. I also heard that MaKie is in big trubz with her landlord. Landlord?!? You’d think MaK would have enough cash to be a property owner versus renter. Anyhoot, Mar rented a house on the Sunset Strip for $15K per month and the owner is claiming that MaK altered the kitchen and turned it into a disaster. The landlord is withholding Mary-Kate’s $30K security deposit and wants more dollas to fix the wreck! Oh Mar, shoulda called in Ty Pennington. Welcome home Oslen family, welcome home!

It’s offish! As of last week, I no longer have to listen to crappy boot-legged versions of Miley’s new cd because it’s out! I can’t even tell you guys how long I’ve been waiting for this cd to be released and I’m TOTES not disappointed! Her new stuff is AH-mazing! It’s a lot more rock and the subject matter is a bit more mature ranging from ex-boyfriends to global warming! Seriously, how could you go wrong?
It’s impossible not to get up and dance when the song “Breakout”, the first on the album, comes on. I think it should be Miley’s next single off the cd because it has such a fun beat and the chorus is REALLY catchy! It’s totally the kind of song you want to listen to when driving with the windows down.
I know you’ve all heard “7 Things” by now, Miley’s breakup anthem song (supposedly about Nick Jonas). If you haven’t seen the video, you should check it out and watch for the part where she kisses a dog tag (which I’m like POSITIVE is one like the one she wore when dating Nick because of his diabetes). And I totally Love the rest of this album! The songs are fun and inspirational! And each one has a different quality that I totally LOVE! Basically this is the cd to get this summer (until the Jo Bro’s cd comes out…duh!). It’s great to listen to in the car, by yourself, with your friends, at a party, wherever! I give it 5 out of 5 scandalous photos.
