Can I just say that I saw the best movie ever made! OMG, Hairspray was absolutely spectak! You know, I knew that it was based more on the Broadway musical that the orig 1988 John Waters’ movie, but seriously, I had no idea that it was actually a musical too. A terrific musical at that. It was similar to the orig, but to me it’s like a totally different movie. They changed a lot of it, but I’m not complaining. The orig is like a darker, more gritty version and this adaptation was like way more upbeat, cute and positive! Dang, they pulled the shiz togethz.

And I thought everyone did a fabulous job. I’m totes obsessed with Nikki Blonsky. I mean, she came out of nowhere and landed this major role! Every song she sang brought tears to my eyes and a smile on my face. Michelle Pfieffer was exquist as Velma Von Tussel. She was defs channeling Cruella DeVille! All the kids were a-doorbells. Elijah Kelly as Seaweed was just too cute, he had the moves and really belted out the hits. Zac Efron was a dreamboat! Brittany Snow was a good bad girl and that Amanda Bynes was incred. Oh, I’m obsessed with Amanz too! Queen Latifah was great too… Dang, she’s doing great! We actually just ran into a friend of our a few weeks ago who’s working with Queen on her own fashion line for the hefty lovely’s! But it was totes John Travolta who stole the show. As Edna Turnblad, John was just… I don’t even have the words to describe him. Freaky? Yes! Lovely? Yes! Heartwrenching? Yes! John Travolta wins every award in my book for taking on this role and following in Divine and Harvey Weinstein’s shews! I totes recommend this movie with all my heart… If you love fred flare, then you’ll just adore Hairspray… You hairhoppers!

OMG, the soundtrack is amazing too. Right after the movie let out, Keith and I ran next to to Virgin Megastore to get the CD… I know, buying CD’s is sooo retro. But I’ve listening to the soundtrack all day so far. I can’t stop. I love all James Marsden’s songs! Who knew he had such chops! I hate when peeps are hot, are great actors and can sing… betches! Kidding, love ‘em all. You can’t stop the beat…
