Zac Posen seamlessly brought together three haute trends in his Fall 2009 collection: classic blazers, romantic florals and fierce, bold checks. Posen’s pieces are always all about being girly, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a less “Gossip Girl” and more menswear take on the blazer, though the ruffled, jewel toned colors definitely add a little something extra. While florals are usually thought of as a more spring pattern, by putting them in more neutral, faded tones they transition right into fall! My favorite look by Posen is something that’s a little outside his box. I’m in love with the bold patterned dresses! They’re attention-demanding, but not over the top. I can totally see our favorite Upper East Siders wearing these next fall.

Tommy Hilfiger is synonymous with that classic, preppy look and he certainly didn’t disappoint us with his Fall 2009 collections. While I don’t really get the “outback” inspired hats, I love that he stuck to a neutral palette, but made it fresh instead of frumpy with some amazingly cute high-heeled booties. I’m absolutely IN LOVE with that black sweater dress! Hello! It has pockets AND a zipper detail on the front, which gives it a more edgy feel. Overall, I’d say if you’re a fan of the classics, this is definitely a win!
