my daughter, Alana Skye |
| Alana is nothing short of extraordinary. She is a dreamer and her sunny optimism brightens my day in the loveliest way. She is creative, artistic, musical, beautiful and so much more. From a young age, she helped all those that she could, volunteering at nursing homes or animal farms. She is compassionate for all creatures big and small. Alana has helped me in times that I needed it the most and I have seen her reach out to the loneliest of souls. She is unique and never fears going against the grain. Her fabulous outfits with brightly colored necklaces and huge dangling earrings may certainly scare me at some points but somehow she manages to pull them off with a radiant confidence. She bakes delectable and unbelievably yummy chocolate chip cookies to boot! Alana's pure happiness is shared with all those she comes in contact with, and it is simply impossible not to smile while being in her presence. I am truly thankful that I have been blessed with a girl such as she! |

my BFF, Jennie. |
| Creative, kind and my partner in crime, Jennie's love and commitment touches each part of my everyday. My life before Jennie was never as exciting, unpredictable or fulfilling; never has one been so dedicated to my dreams and goals as much as their own. We can spend a whole day building and creating together and follow it with a night of playing and laughing. In the morning, when we wake and shuffle off the sleepy cobwebs, we excitedly do it all again. Fred Flare is one of her favorite things. You guys rock the styles and charms that Jennie lives and breathes. She deserves to be spoiled, to be tickled by something that just scratches at the surface of just how wonderful she is. As for me, I jump at any chance to share this with the world. |

my best friend Dana |
| Dana has been teaching English in Japan for the past two years.
Even though she has giggly middle schoolers who want to play bingo all day,
she still makes time to send me emails and the most wonderful care
packages. I love that no matter how far away we are from each other, we are
constantly thinking of the other person. So of course I have to send her
the latest jams on mix CDs! She is truly the best friend a girl could have. |

my stepdad |
| In just the 6 years that my mom and stepdad have been married, he
has become my #1 supporter and mentor. After my high school track meets or
college recognitions, he was always notorious for bragging on his
"daughter's" achievements. Even more heartfelt is the pride he has in
me when I fail but gave my best or when I fall short but keep trying. This
man deserves to have more than the title "stepdad".... He's my dad. |

my boyfriend Jud |
| Jud is always there for me, whether he is picking up dinner when I have a late class or listening to me talk about my day. We have lived both near and far from each other for the past four years, and the thing that keeps me going is knowing that some day we'll get to be together forever. He is always supportive, tells me I'm beautiful when I feel gross and always makes me priority number one in his life. He is my best friend and my boyfriend and deserves more than I can ever give him back. |

my lil sis, Jocelyn |
| There's no sister in the world like her. Even though she's thousands of miles away in college and we hardly get the time to talk, I know she is always there for me. When she's back for the holidays and breaks we always make time to hang out. She even put up being my camera guy, since she's tall, at the 'N Sync and Backstreet Boys concerts I went to in the boy band phase of my life... She's been putting up with me ever since we were little kids and has never complained. This Thanksgiving she won't be able to come home because she has to study. My sister really deserves this fredflare.com certificate! |

my friend Rebecca |
| Being crafty and caring is a rare and wonderful combo. All my friends moved away leaving me lonely and lacking for partners in art, crime and pranks. Enter Rebecca to save my sociability and creativity! She rocks a mean silkscreen, makes one-inch buttons and throws the best art-creating b-day parties known on this planet! |

My boyfriend Alan |
| Alan makes me the happiest girl in the world! He is always showing me his love in little ways, whether it be a good luck e-mail before an exam, taping LOST when I have to work, or giving me kisses! He even suprised me with a new computer he built from scratch, despite the fact he didn't have a lot of money to do that. I actually got him the "Viva los computadors shirt" from this site and he loves it since he's a programmer. I think he should win the gift certificate to fredflare.com because he deserves it! |

my Gramma, Marianne |
| In February I had to leave college due to circumstances beyond my
control. Gramma lives near the school, while my mother lives considerably
farther. Gramma let me move in with her, rent-free, helped me find my
current full-time job, makes me amazing food and has become my absolute,
indispensable best friend. She watches silly movies and television shows
and randomly dances around the house with me. She is unbelievably
thoughtful. My boyfriend's grandmother passed on recently. She was the
only grandparent he ever had. My Gramma called him and told him that she
would be happy to be his Gramma as well. I am in awe of my grandmother!
She is my hero, and I am thankful that I get to spend so much time with her
and that she is such an important part of my life. |

my sister Emily |
| I can always count on my sister Emily to make me feel better. My
sister and I are two of triplets, so we are very close. I am going to
college out of state so while I am in Tennessee and she is back home in
Oklahoma, it's hard being away from her. We talk on the phone everyday,
at least once. Anytime I am having a crummy day, she always says something
to make me feel better. She'll say "Abby, you look like Paula Abdul..." Ha! She also
sends me gift cards in the mail. The thing I love the most is that when I
recently called crying to her about a manager from work talking bad about
me, it upset her so much that she cried, too. She even offered to send me
money to pay for my bills if I wanted to quit. I love that she cares for
me that much. My sister would do anything for me. She's such a giving
person and I love her for that!! |

my husband Sean |
| My husband and I started dating when we were fifteen. 16 years and 3 kids later he still continues to work as hard as he can to make sure we always have everything we need. My husband always puts himself last and ends up never getting anything for himself. While working full time, going to school at night and going on business trips, he still manages to make time just for his family. My husband would do anything he can for us! I would love to surprise my husband with this gift certificate. He loves all your home and office accessories. |

my mom, Teri |
| Dealing with 5 kids would be enough to drive anyone nuts, especially when those kids have 5 very distinct personalities! My mother never tried to make us conform to what anyone else wanted, even if it might have made her life easier. We were encouraged to be unique and do whatever we felt drove us, even if it didn't lead to immediate success. She sees accomplishment in everything we do. She believes in me, unconditionally, and you cannot ask for better inspiration than that!
I love you mom! |

| Lizzie Giordino |
my best friend Allie |
| I have known her since kindergarten and she has never let me down. She always remembers everything, except what the algebra homework was. She knows which classes to go to for my homework when I am sick and when my birthday is so she can get me a gift and decorate my locker. She is also a very perceptive person. She knows what's happening in people's lives and figures out how she can help them. She is so smart and sensitive but she has never bragged about that or anything. I would just like to thank her for being her honest and caring self. |

my wife Kari |
| I am thankful for my wife Kari because she manages to take care of
our two crazy children (Elsa 4 and Henry 1-1/2) despite Henry's penchant
for playing in the toilet (I know) and Elsa's insistance that Kari be the
mean witch in any number of princess scenarios. She does all this and still manages to be very funny, clever, resourceful and beautiful. She also
loves to cook and makes sure we're eating well. She loves everything on
your site and with two little guys, well, there really isn't a store in
the world that she could go in without paying for breakage at some point,
so I know she'd love a gift certificate. I know it's corny to love your
wife, but she's really amazing and if you could just see how she manages
to pull off a stylish outfit with a cool belt buckle and all, well, it'd
make you melt. |

my big sister Helen |
| Helen has always been there for me when we were growing up, even when I blamed her for writing on Mum and Dad's wooden chair with a compass! She has a great sense of humour and spends her life thinking about others. She introduced me to great music, educating me with a New Order cassette when I was stuck in my thrash guitar phase. She never lets things get too much for her and always seems to pull herself up when things are going wrong. At her wedding recently the sound system went down right in the middle of one of her fave songs but she was still on the dancefloor, crazy dancing at the end of the night with a big smile on her face. We live in different parts of the country and I feel like we don't get to see each other that often. I am nominating Helen because I have never let her know how special she is and how much I love her. So here's to you sis! You are the best! |

| Laura Kisthardt |
my teacher, Mr Cory Campbell |
| Mr Campbell taught my 8th grade English class. I am not, however,
nominating him just because I learned so much about grammar. I am nominating him
because he taught us about the stuff that matters, like what amazing kinds
of lyrics people can write in music, or what an excited author sounds like,
or good ideas for naming a pet turtle. Anything creative that came out of
our noggins was embraced by him. He showed us the best way of looking at
our writing, pointing out and possibly over exaggerating how AH-MAZ-ING
it is, but of course suggesting good ideas to improve in your next copy.
Overall, I learned the most that year in that one class then I think I will
ever again in life. Maybe it was just the timing, a succeptable age to
learn, but maybe, and I think this is the answer, he was just an amazing
teacher and an amazing student. He was always the first to admit how much
he learned from us, his students. |

Josh! |
| Josh is really something else. Partner in crime,
pick-up-the-pieces best friend, laugh-till-your-stomach-hurts buddy and all-around awesome, he thinks of everything. Case in point: The lunchbags. Every day, he draws me a new, cute, topical drawing on a paper lunch bag –
it never fails to make me smile. In addition to being clever, he’s really nice about things like: changing the cat litter (yuck!) and driving
hundreds of miles to visit vintage stores in the faraway wilderness. (He’s also really nice when they turn out to be closed…) One of Josh’s best qualities is that he never gets upset, wound-up or exasperated – even when
you crave corn chips in a blizzard, or are irrationally crying over the movie "Ghost Dog". An even-keel, levelheaded dude, he’s the most reliable person I know. He’ll shoot you straight about ill-fitting purchases and bad-idea haircuts, and he’ll always, always leave you the last cookie. There’s no better best friend. |

my friend & co-worker Erika |
| Every morning Erika has a smile on her face! She makes my day so much better and funner. We can usually be found in front of the coffee machine cracking jokes. Otherwise we are emailing and calling each other when we are only two offices away. Even outside of work Erika and I are good friends and enjoy shopping, an after-hours drink or even an REO Speedwagon concert! We love to look at the Fred Flare website and wish we could by all of the cute stuff you guys have. I know she would really appreciate a gift certificate. Erika, you're the best! |

my Grandfather Pete |
| I know not a lot of people can say that their grandfather encourages tattoos and craziness. I'm thankful that mine does. He's taken great care of me over the years and always wants to do something fun. Whether it's making fun of my mother's cooking or listening to his old
Johnny Cash records. He's also a fashion inspiration! Despite his age he insists on wearing Chuck Taylors and jeans all the time and everywhere. It's also really nice to have someone to threaten ex-boyfriends and to make you peirogies. |

| Monique |
my boyfriend Jesse |
| I am nominating my boyfriend Jesse because he is one of the most generous people in the world and deserves to have his actions
reciprocated. When someone needs a favor, he is there, whether it be letting his friend live with him free-of-rent for six months, or just
rubbing my feet after a long day. Recently, he took a week off of work to stay by his mother's side when she was in the hospital, even though other friends and family were there to take care of her. He works long hours,
often staying at work for 10-12 hour stints, and even if he is exhausted, when he comes home he takes the time to spoil others around him. (Namely, me!) He is always thinking of others, has an amazing sense of humor, and
can always keep-on-truckin' with a smile on his face even after some of the craziest fastballs are thrown his way. |

My little sister Maura |
| Maura is my best friend! Whenever I come up with ridiculous ideas, like throwing a tea party with stuffed animals or starting a crazy noisey pop band, she never makes fun of me. Instead, she always plays along. She's going through a tough time because she just started high school and no one has realized yet how completely awesome and wonderful
she is. But despite all her problems, she's still always ready and willing to have dance parties to the B-52's or go on nature walks to enjoy fall foliage. She is definitely the most amazing 14-year-old ever! She's been playing the electric guitar for years and is herself no matter what anyone says! I'm so lucky that she's my sister. |

Miss Sarah Bird |
| I'm thankful for my bestest friend Sarah because every day with her is an adventure. We've gotten ourselves into some pretty sticky situations, but with her I know we'll always manage to wiggle our way out. No matter how bad it seems, I can always look beside me for Sarah to make me laugh so hard that my stomach hurts. Whether it's our terrible cooking skills (such as ruining cookies for school by adding WAY too much salt) or our affinity for scrapbooking and romantic comedies (Uh, hello? Who doesn't love "The Wedding Planner"?) Sarah magnifies the fun in everything. That's what makes her a FANTABULOUS friend! This is our senior year and I don't know what I'll do without her next year! |

| Beth |
Karyn Grimaldi, my twisted sister! |
| I am über thankful for my sister because she is the yin to my yang, ebony to my ivory, the potato to my sour cream... You get my drift, right? We are pretty dang opposite - and that's what brings me joy. We balance each other out. When I'm crazy she's the voice of reason. When she's stressed, I'm the voice that says, "Hankuna Matata." She gives me the best advice, she wears the same size jeans and she likes to sing "You're so Vain" by Carly Simon with me. We laugh, we cry, we bring each other sanity... and insanity when needed. I'm am thankful for my sister! |

my mom, Janiece |
| My mom kicks so much bum and deserves so many kudos! She raised my bro and I all by herself while providing for us. She was always involved in our school projects and spent many a late night helping us. She is one of the most creative people I have ever known and I am proud to call her not only "Mom" but also "friend". Now that my mom has put us through school she is putting herself through college. She only has one year left, but she's been sick lately and has been in the hospital. Because of this, she'll have to redo many of her classes, thus prolonging her college graduation. After more than 20 years this must be so frustrating for her. The reason that I am nominating her is because my mom deserves all the kudos in the world for raising my bro and I, with hardly any funds and a lot of difficulties, and for being brave enough to go back to school. She's the best and she's my hero! |

Steffanie, my best friend |
| Even though we haven't been friends very long, she's been so, SO awesome. I remember all the nights of staying up way too late, climbing onto my roof and eating cool Asian noodles! And (gosh!) inside jokes all over the place. (P.S. EVS) Ah... good times! Plus, she can never run out of fun things to do. It's like being with that giraffe on the Toys R Us commercials. :) When we don't get along, it tears me up inside and that's how I know we were meant to be friends. (Even though I'm always the one who has to apologize...) I just want you to know Steffanie that I love you forever and always. You're my best friend and that won't EVER change.

my friend Kevin Rockel |
| Hey this is to nominate my friend Kevin Rockel and his new family. He has been a best friend of mine since WAY back in the day (6th grade) and he just got shipped over to Iraq for 2 yrs :( If this wasn't bad enough he just got married to an amazing girl who is pregnant with his first child. He won't even get to see the little guy (or gal) born. It kills me to know I won't get to see him at our annual X-mas party and hang out. I'm thankful that I have a kickass friend who puts himself on the line to provide for his new family and represent our country (politics aside). So I nominate my friend Kevin Rockel and his whole (almost) new family for getting a much deserved thanks themselves!! |

| Martina |
Jessica Wolf, my roomate and coolest friend |
| Jessica has taught me SO many things about life that I've always been stubborn about opening my mind to... such as, cats are A-OK! I was scared of cats before I met her. I'm serious! She introduced me to the culture of the North-West USA, online blogs and super-sleuth Ebay shopping. (She's an Ebay master who can find 300 cheap amazing vintage dresses just by knowing the right keywords to search for...) She also taught me something WAY more important than all that: NO ONE NEEDS BOYS TO BE COMPLETE!!! I know, I know, that should be obvious to modern women and men like ourselves, but it's hard to realize that when you're going through a terrible breakup and can't understand why he wants to leave you sad and lonely when you love him so much.... Tears! I coincidentally met Jessica the day I was brutally dumped and out of nowhere she instantly became my SAVIOUR and doesn't even know it, which is why I want to thank her officially and make sure she realizes what an amazing friend she's been to me, both in hard times AND dance-party times! I'm sure she wasnt trying to save my life, but she did. So really, what I'm thankful for is to have a friend who is just so naturally amazing that she doesnt even know how awesome she is. She needs to be recognized!! |
