This month Keith and Lulu tee off with their favorite teen agent in The Haunted Bridge.

Lulu: Hi everybody! Sorry it took us so long to post this review...

Keith: It’s entirely my fault. Lulu lent me her copy of The Haunted Bridge and... I lost it! Can you ever forgive me?

L: Of course. Remember, I lost my keys that same week. They must have run off together.

K: Oh readers, pleeeeeese do not tell Nancy what sucky detectives we are...

L: We’ll get FIRED! We are a disgrace. We can’t even find a missing book or set o’ keys...

K: Yeah, I think we need to put off opening that detective agency just a bit longer. Nancy can still run circles around us.

L: Totally. In The Haunted Bridge she’s such an effortlessly expert sleuth that she even squeezes in games of golf between her investigations.

K: Which is fitting, since it was golf that led her to this episode’s core mystery.

L: Allow me to set the stage... Nancy, Bess and George are vacationing at the Deer Mountain Hotel. I imagine it as a glamorous Poconos lodge with a golf course... There’s an amateur golf tournament that week so, in the opening chapter, Nancy is doing her best to play a good game and see if she’ll qualify.

K: She’s on the sixteen hole when she accidentally hits her ball into the woods. Ooopsy daisy!

L: She asks her caddy to fetch it for her but he refuses! He’s spooked by all the stories he’s heard of ghosts near this haunted bridge in the woods.

K: Saying something like that is music to Nancy’s ears...

L: Exactly. Her vacation just got so much more interesting! She and the girlz trek out to the woods late that night to investigate. They hear moans and see the ghost, but... it turns out to be just some weird scarecrow.

K: The Mystery of the Haunted Bridge is a piece of cake! The case is closed by page 38 so Nancy immediately turns her attention to another mystery, The Case of the Vanishing Golf Ball...

L: She figures while they’re in the woods they might as well make it productive.

K: Right. That investigation doesn’t go as well but it does lead to another case... a jeweled case! Nancy finds a mysterious chest buried in the mud.

L: The ladiez rush back to the hotel, pry open its lock using a pair of spiked golf cleats and lo and behold... it’s filled with jewels!!!

K: Ooooooooh, I love when jewelry is involved in the mystery. That’s the best!

L: Me too. Okay, people! Here’s a description of the contents: necklaces of red and green and blue stones, rings with curious settings, gold and silver pieces, some diamonds and, last but not least, a jeweled vanity case.

K: This case is actually super important. I’ll set this one up... In typical Nancy fashion we have her multi-mysterying with Dad on another caper in the area.

L: Carson Drew has requested his daughter’s assistance in trying to locate a daring gang of
jewel thieves.

K: Ooooooooh, I love when they have jewel thieves!

L: Me too!

K: Unfortunately, Nancy and Dad don’t have much to go on. All they know is that one member of the group is a woman who always travels with, don’t-cha-know, a jeweled vanity case.

L: So our lady detective is on the hunt for a lady thief...

K: This episode is all about the ladies! Nancy’s in hot pursuit of both the female thief and the original owner of the jewels, whom she suspects is another mysterious woman in the area.

L: And, all the while, she plays against other lady golfers each day and kicks butt!

K: That’s our girl. She captures the thief, restores the jewels to their original owner and even locates her missing golf ball to use on the last hole and win the silver cup.

L: Is there anything that girl can’t do?

K: Nope. Girl’s got game!

L: Tune in next month as Nancy displays another of her hidden talents in The Clue of the Tapping Heels. Who knew she was also an accomplished tap dancer?

K: Girl’s got the moves!
